I believe in humanitarianism. It is through attentiveness we better identify our disparities. The world may separate by region, but what binds us together is that we are all human. In addition, it is obligatory to acknowledge and aid others who do not acquire the same luxuries we have. We as humans must lift as we climb.
The Medallion of Excellence in Global Learning taught me to JUST DO IT. I am a strong believer in being the change I want to see and it is better to be collaborator than a bystander. Through meeting the medallion requirements, I met amazing agents of change and engaged in multiple cultural and religious activities that clarified I need to work harder and do more. My engagement and communication skills sharpened and I became more receptive and comfortable with sharing my knowledge with others. Because of this program, I learned to be meticulous and create time for events that foster personal growth. FIU is my canvas and the level of diversity present permitted me to paint the unforgettable interactions and engagements I encountered and molded me into an activist in my community. This is not the end for me. I am ecstatic to employ and leverage my academic expertise to professional fields who strive to progress the lives of marginalized countries and people.
