ANT 2000 Introduction to Anthropology
An overview of the anthropological sub-fields of cultural anthropology, linguistics/communications, physical anthropology and applied anthropology. The anthropological perspective (i.e., cross-cultural, inter-disciplinary, case study, cultural relativism, and systems approach) is used to address critical concepts and questions in the fie. CCJ 4694 Human Trafficking This course is a study and critical examination of various forms of human trafficking, including forced labor and sex slavery. The course focuses on human trafficking as a form of human exploitation from historical and global perspectives. It discusses similarities and dissimilarities between slavery and trafficking. CPO 2002 Introduction to Comparative Politics Analysis of major theories of comparative politics including development, state building, institutions, patterns of political interaction and comparative elites. Focus on Latin America and the Third World. CPO 4057 Political Violence and Revolution An examination of major historical instances and modern expressions of political violence; discussion of revolution from a comparative perspective. Attention will focus on the social origin and political determinants of such events. INR 4075 International Protection of Human Rights Development of the concern of the international community with the rights of individuals and groups and the institutional mechanisms which have been set up for their protection. REL 3308 Studies in World Religions Examines the origins, teachings, and practices of selected world religions. The specific religions selected for examination may vary from semester to semester. |
