My name is Ednise Sainval, a current student at Florida International University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, minor in International Relations and Certificates in National Security and Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
I was born in Haiti and grew up in Naples, Florida. From a young age, I was always fascinated with politics and law because these two arenas determined livelihoods. As a member of the Haitian diaspora, my dream is to give back to the Haitian people. Throughout my undergraduate years, I tailored my classes and involvement to enhance my knowledge on the region and political culture of Haiti. My purpose in life is to motivate others to employ their voices to provoke change locally and globally. The level of diversity present at Florida International University made me appreciate the various cultures and people of the world. The atmosphere has influenced me to delve into various interdisciplinary tracks. The national security certificate I have obtained taught me the prominence of comprehending the various facets of global security, international security policies and security and intelligence examinations. In addition, the Latin American and Caribbean Studies certificate prepared me with the analytical skills to understand Latin America and the Caribbean area as sets of complex relationships between countries, identify key political and cultural periods in the regions and analyze the shifting relations among the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean area, and with the United States Upon the completion of my undergraduate degree, I plan to achieve a Master in Arts in Global Governance and International Development followed with a Juris Doctor degree.
